oh, baby.

happy hump day!!
before we get started, let's get the disclaimer out of the way.
i am NOT currently pregnant. nor am i planning on becoming pregnant in the near future.
but that does not mean that i am not baby obsessed.
one of my good friends may or may not be preggo, but since she has yet to enter her 2nd trimester, she shall remain nameless... for just a few more days ;)

so thanks to pinterest, today's post is all about baby cuteness. {be prepared to have increased levels of baby fever. and don't say i didn't warn you}.

.... pottery barn has the BEST baby bedding {in my personal opinion}
Harper with Letter Appliqué Nursery Bedding
... classy animal print blankets
Pottery Barn Kids Animal Stroller Blankets
... a monogram is a must. two is even better. this is almost enough to make me want twins.
Twins I love it!
and this fancy mobile? loveee it.
love the mobile
... and how about this anchor one?! LOVEEE it.
... my {future} daughter needs this
Pretty Pink Princess Pedal Car
... and here is a glimpse into my future
Retro Style Layla dress in bright yellow...
i will take all three... and their outfits, too. please and thank you.

almost too much cuteness to handle, right?

but to reiterate, it will probably be a while before i pop up pregnant... if for no other reason than i have to save money for a few years... i could possibly go broke buying all these adorable baby accessories.

i can't think of a clever title.

heyyyy, lovies!

first off, thank you so much to everyone who wished me luck for the phone interview i had this morning... i appreciate all of your thoughts & prayers!
i think it went well... i pulled out the big guns for this one {even though it was a phone interview}- i showered, got fancy... even wore heels and sat at my at-home desk with a mirror in front of me so i could make sure i smiled... because smiles can be heard over the phone, my friends.
it can't hurt, right? i am soooo ready to get myself a REAL big girl job.
i am trying out a new local coffee shop today... their mocha is better than starbucks... but it is a little crowded, so i resorted to sharing a three-seater couch with a girl doing her bible study... i don't think she was crazy about me invading her space. {to my credit, i did try to scrunch all the way to my side and there are two pillows between us}. guess she will not be my new best friend. better luck next time.
the barista is wearing a tuxedo apron and sweet talking a customer's baby. the guys beside me are talking blogs. the music selections are good {it is taking ALL of my self control to NOT bust out singing along to 'mr jones' by counting crows}. there's lots of students studying...
{thank you JESUS those days are over}

now that i have painted the scenery for you, it's time for some sometimes and always {linking up with the lovely megan}

sometimes: i write a list of a million things i want to get done each day.
always: i finish about 1/3 of the things on the list, consider it a success, and put the rest on tomorrow's list.

sometimes: i contemplate taking a nap in the afternoons
always: i wait too long and then end up foregoing the nap because i don't want it to mess up my sleep that night.

sometimes: i think i'll cook myself something for dinner when the hubs has to work late.
always: i end up eating a pb+banana+honey sandwich or a bowl of cereal

sometimes: i want to try a new bottle of wine...
always: i browse the aisles and get so overwhelmed with choices that i end up taking home 2-3 bottles because i can't pick one {which of course, are chosen by their fun labels/the shape of their bottles}

peace out, homies.

monday randoms.

 our weekend was kind of blah. you may remember, that since the hubs is currently working on the weekends... we have 'shifted' our weekends to wednesday and thursday. so my real weekend was spent having movie marathons, a target run with laura beth, and church + lunch with the hubs yesterday. i also started reading 'the lucky one' by nicholas sparks... my mom loaned me the book a while back and since the movie is coming out in march, i wanted to read the book first!
so i finally jumped on the instagram train... and i love it! i must admit that i don't post anything too exciting... i mainly post pictures of food and the furbaby...
but if you're interested, you can follow me @lori_williams. {and if you don't have the instagram app... download it, mmkay?}
also... does anyone have any tips on what i can use to make picture collages for the blog? i know a lot of people use picnik, but since it's shutting down next month, i'd rather get something that i can stick with.

the second go for the goal link up that i co-host {along with meghan and meghan} will be posted on friday, march 2nd. if you're new around here... the go for the goal link up is a way for us to track our progress with our new years resolutions. {you can read the first link up here}... we would love to have you join! so make sure you mark your calendar and link up with us!

this is going to be a super busy/exciting week... tonight the hubs and i are taking a CPR class together. he needs it for some work certification, so i told him i'd take it with him... never hurts to be prepared... especially for when we have kids! then tomorrow morning, i have a phone interview with UGA. i have never had a phone interview before, so i'm a little nervous about it... but hopefully i'll do well and make the cut for in-person interviews :) {any prayers would be appreciated!} and then later on in the week, my brother, sister and law and the babies are coming into town- i can't wait to see them!!

happy monday! hope everyone has a great week!!

ten day you challenge: one picture of yourself.

one picture of me
and I'm going to include some random facts about me... because it feels odd to post only a picture of myself ;)

i like my cereal soggy.
most of the time i will pick fruity over chocolate.
i am a night owl.
i LOVE umbrellas. seriously, i probably have 10... and still want more.
the hubs and i are currently obsessed with hgtv.
i absolutely love to entertain.
i like coffee FLAVORED stuff {such as ice cream}, but not actual coffee.
i love football season more than most girls i know.
i love cheese. especially fresh mozzarella and goat cheese. yummm.
i officially have spring fever. bring on the warm weather, bright colors, and sandals!

and this, my friends, brings the 10 day challenge (which was really much, much longer than 10 days) to a close.
thanks for reading ;)

ten day you challenge: two songs.

{yeah, i forgot about the 10 day challenge again... 2 left. maybe i can finish by march ;) if you missed the first 8 posts, check 'em out here}

 it is SO hard to choose two songs... i could write a book of all of my favorite songs.

but my favorite song of all time is "aint no mountain high" by marvin gaye. its an oldie, but a goodie. i love the lyrics. i love the scene in remember the titans {where the guys sing it in the locker room.} i love that my college roomie, bridgette, had it as my ringtone. and i love that my roomies and i used to have panty parties dancing around the apartment singing into our hairbrushes.

the next song would have to be everything by michael buble. this was the hubs and i's first dance on our wedding day. since we're not the sappy, super slow love song type of couple this song fit us perfectly. and i feel that the lyrics explain what marriage is all about in a nutshell.
"whatever comes our way ah we'll see it through,
and you know thats what our love can do"

"and in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
it's you, it's you, you make me sing.
you're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
you're every song, and i sing along.
'cause you're my everything"

catching up.

first off, i haven't posted (besides a sponsor post) since wednesday... my excuse is half that i was busy... half that i was uninspired. so sorry bout that. i'll try not to let it happen again ;) now, let's catch you guys up to speed.

i had my very first BLATE on saturday (blogger+date = blate, for those of you who do not know)
laura beth of table for one and i started following each other's blogs recently since we live in the same city, we decided to meet up! we went to pauleys downtown saturday afternoon. we had mimosas and i enjoyed a terribly bad for you delish strawberry + nutella while laura beth opted for something much healthier. we took a picture on her camera, so i'll have to steal it when she posts it. so fun!

i finished up another craft i've been working on! i made this out of a canvas that i wrapped in cork, then burlap... and strung lace and hot glued on the flowers i made out of felt.
the clothes pins were like a dollar from michaels... are they not the cutest?!
now im working on a chalkboard menu board... the chalkboard paint is giving me trouble. so i hope it turns out good.

i also finished reading the fixer upper by mary kay andrews today.
 it's about a girl named dempsey who was working as a lobbyist in DC until the PR firm finds itself wrapped up in a political scantal and dempsey finds herself without a job or place to live. so when her dad suggests she moves to the middle-of-nowhere-guthrie, georgia to fix up the family house that he recently inherited. when dempsey shows up, the house is in much worse condition than she expected and comes with a grumpy old distant live-in relative.
i really liked it! i will definitely be checking out mary kay andrews other books.

valentines recap.

so here i am to {finally} recap valentines day... i promise to keep the mushy gushy to a minimum, so please continue reading.

the hubs and i both agreed to keep valentines day simple this year... but he surprised me first thing yesterday morning with a GORGEOUS orchid...
some magazines {since i didn't want any sweets}...
 and a funny card...
 {which is especially funny because i have no butt to speak of}

i gave him some clothes, mini reeses cups, and a card. i know clothes may not seem like an exciting gift to give a man... but i assure you, he tolerates loves it when i dress him. and he's been saying he news some new threads. so, cupid delivered. courtesy of old navy. {several of these are slightly out of his comfort zones... i'm working on broadening his style scope a little bit}.
{are those anchor swim trunks not the cutest things you've ever seen!?}

as i mentioned before, the hubs had to work on valentines day... so i spent the rest of the day blogging from starbucks and we rescheduled date night to tonight.

greg told me to be ready at 5:40 for a surprise dinner...
i planned on getting fancy and painting my nails. but after i spilled the nail polish bottle down my leg and on the bathroom cabinets and floor, i somehow wasn't in the mood anymore, so the nails are sporting a natural look instead.
he took me to hilltop grille. its a local owned seafood and steakhouse and its so good!
we had fried mushrooms for an appetizer and i had scallops with sweet potatoes and green beans for dinner.... it was delish.
and then we came and i made chocolate covered strawberries. the perfect dessert.
to my valentine,
my biggest fan and supporter. my favorite. the one who cannot keep a secret. {the one who i hope NEVER realizes he got the short end of the stick}
i am so glad you picked me.
i love you forever.
and lastly, my nieces and nephew have something to share with you...
{ansleigh, sophia, alyssa, eli}

and the winner is....

just stopping in real quick to say hello, and announce the winner of my cowl giveaway....
congratulations to HEATHER of from here to there! heather has been a follower of mine for a while now and is super sweet! and i think you should check out her blog.
heather, i will be emailing you momentarily.
THANK YOU to everyone who entered... i already have a second giveaway in the works {and i am really, really excited about it!!!}... i'm thinking when i hit 250 followers? only 75 to go.... i would REALLY like to do that before summer {so that the theme of the giveaway is relevant. *hint, hint*}.

and i will be back later today recap my valentines day...
have a great day, lovies!

starbucks + get to know me + valentines day.

i am sitting in starbucks right now... i decided that instead of blogging from home today, it would be nice to get out of the house for a while. i don't know why the thought didn't occur to me... i have THREE starbucks within a short drive to my house. i picked one farther from the UGA campus, thinking that it wouldn't be as crowded... but i was wrong. this place is happening...
{just so you know, i had to steal this from google, because they didn't give me a love cup. sadface}
i love that there's several students studying. bless their hearts. every time i start to miss college, i have to remember the stress of the endless papers, tests and presentations... and then i don't miss it so much anymore. {now if only those 4.5 years and that very expensive peice of paper would pay off and land me a good "big girl" job}

i digress... let's get to today's REAL topic...

i saw this fun link up yesterday that neely is hosted called 'get your blog out there'... i don't know how i missed this, but i figured it's better late than never... so i'm jumping on the train today.

for those of you who are new around here {i would first like to appologize because my mind is ALL over the place today}...

HELLO! i'm lori.
 i recently turned twenty-five. as i mentioned before i am a college graduate {go bobcats, rawr}... i married my lovie on 05.22.10 after 4.5 years of dating.
we recently moved to a new city and i am thoroughly frustrated with embracing my new title as a 'stay at home wife'.
i love to travel, read, craft and cook {as long as i have a recipe to go by}.
i have a love for anything with lace, glitter, stripes or polka dots.
i started blogging about a year ago and it was quite possibly one of the best decisions i've ever made {besides marrying that handsome hubs of mine, of course}. in the beginning i mainly wanted to document my every day life so i could remember the small things. i never anticipated {172, but who's counting?} people would actually enjoy reading the mess i write on here. i have 'met' so many amazing people and i seriously can't imagine life without this little blog now.
you can read more randomness about me here, here or here. {or just click the 'about me' label to the right and scroll}.
if it's your first time stopping by, please leave a comment so i can check out your blog as well!

oh! and since i'm not really up on the coffee shop etiquette... how long can i stay before i warm out my welcome? maybe i should alternate locations so i don't become that creeper in the corner?

for all the regulars: i plan on posting about valentines day tomorrow. the hubs is working tonight {one of the sucky parts compromises of being married to a police officer. its a 24/7 business, people}. its okay though... one of the perks of being unemployed in between jobs is that my schedule is very open, so we're able to 'reschedule' valentines day ;)

so come back tomorrow for the mushy gushy stuff, mmkay?! {oh, and i will be announcing the winner to my giveaway... today is the LAST chance to enter, get on it.}

random highlights from the week.

my sweet nephew, eli turned one on wednesday!! i can't believe it has already been a year since he was born. here's the pictures mandy posted of his very first picture and on his first birthday. {you can read the post i wrote when he was born here}

the hubs and i went to see 'the vow' this weekend... {i'm so lucky that my man almost NEVER complains when i ask him to go see a chick flick with me}. as i've mentioned before, i am not exactly a tough movie critic but we both REALLY liked it. i have a few things to say about it. {don't worry. no spoilers here}.

i love channing tatum and rachel mcadams
i do agree with a few reviews i've read that say the movie left you wanting more a little more.
 shame on her parents.

i cannot imagine waking up one day and not being able to remember my husband. on the other hand... THANK GOODNESS i am a blogger... that way if something ever DOES happen to me i will have proof that i am in love and the hubs is the real deal ;)

i'm kind of loving having my nails painted lately. i've gotten pretty good at the at-home-manicure thing. i picked this color thinking it was a pale ballet slipper pink, but it turned out to be more of a coral and i LOVE it. (its by orly, and i wore it for a WHOLE week before it chipped!)

this weekend we went out to eat for our friend nick's 30th birthday... we went to longhorn and then out for a drink or two before all 8 of us climbed in my ford edge to drive home. and three of those law-breakers were police officers. {mom, pretend you didn't read that, mmkay?}
{the hubs, nick, erik & aaron}
{with my hubs... i had to add this picture to show my coat- it was a christmas present from my parents and it hasn't been cold enough in georgia to wear until this weekend!}
happy birthday, nick!! {he admittedly reads the blog on occasion, so i had to give him a shout out}

i finished the third book of the hunger games series {mockingjay}. i stand by the fact that i said the 2nd book was my fave... but the 3rd was pretty darn good too! i love how the books made you think and were not predictable. they were super sad at times, but i really liked the ending.
now, im on to reading "the fixer upper" by mary kay andrews. my momma gave me this one to read and i'm really liking it so far... i just may have found a new favorite author :)

hope everyone had a great weekend :)
